According to am UNESCO report, 1 out of every 3 students has experienced school bullying. Children who often suffer from oppression and bullying at school are three times more likely to have difficulty settling into school and are twice as likely to skip school than normal children.
Bullying doesn’t just happen in schools, unfortunately it can be through life, in so many different scenarios. It’s NOT a sign of bravery or toughness, in any way. That is why teachers and students of SNA have joined force together to organize a special 1-week-program with many meaningful and educational activities in a hope of spreading as much awareness about this matter as possible.
Apart from showing educational videos about this issue in the classroom, students of all grades also get to participate in an interesting mask design activity. Especially on this Thursday (26th Nov), the whole school will be celebrating “Odd Socks Day” – a special day when everyone can wear unique and unmatching socks – as a way for people to express themselves and honor their individuality.
We also would like to reveal that the upcoming Thursday is also the launching day of an extremely “cool” anti-bullying app that is designed by SNA students and yes, they even won an international award for it! If you want to find out more about this app, please stay tuned to our next posts.
