? Every library lesson in a PYP school is a language and inquiry lesson. Underpinning the IB philosophy of educating lifelong learners and creating globally-minded students, is the recognition that language learning is fundamental, and that reading is one of the essential tools for language learning. So, an important part of the weekly library lesson at SNA is giving students the freedom to sit and read individually, or with friends.
? In the Primary Library at SNA, students are encouraged to choose a balanced variety of books during their weekly library sessions. The goal is to expose students to quality literature and non-fiction texts in both their mother tongue and the language of instruction.
? Fiction books support the development of creative thinking, empathy, and open-mindedness. Non-fiction books support the acquisition of knowledge, understanding, and curiosity about the world in which they live.
